Within the framework of environmental permits and in order to ensure that the effects of the works on the environment remain limited, numerous environmental monitoring activities are carried out, covering water, air, acoustics, and biodiversity. These monitoring activities are conducted by specialised companies on behalf of TELT and construction consortiums.

In a spirit of transparency, several bulletins detailing the results of this monitoring are published here.

For Noise and Dust bulletins, a geographical breakdown is provided for better consistency according to nearby work zones:

  • Lower valley sector: concerns the municipalities of Saint-Julien-Montdenis, Villargondran and Saint-Martin-la-Porte
  • Middle sector: concerns the municipalities of Saint-Martin-la-Porte and Saint-André
  • Upper valley sector: concerns the municipalities of Modane, Villarodin-Bourget and Avrieux
  • Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne sector: concerns works carried out by SNCF Réseau in the Saint-Jean basin, covering the municipalities of Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne and Villargondran

Atmosphere

Several bulletins are published on air quality, linked to the various complementary monitoring activities carried out. The data is presented at different geographical scales depending on the bulletins, which vary according to the parameters studied.

This section includes: monthly bulletins on fine particle monitoring, quarterly bulletins on dust deposition carried out near the different construction sectors, as well as glossaries providing explanations. It also includes quarterly bulletins issued by our partner ATMO Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, which more broadly cover the Maurienne valley and the potential influence of the works.

Noise and vibrations

From 2025 onwards, the Noise bulletins are presented according to a geographical classification: the Saint-Jean basin, the lower valley sector, the middle sector, and the upper Maurienne valley sector, in connection with the various nearby construction platforms and the conveyor belt network.

These bulletins are also accompanied by a glossary providing technical details.

Water

From 2025 onwards, the Water bulletins are structured into several sections covering the different components of the aquatic environment: surface water, groundwater, and construction-site water, as well as an overall summary.

They are also accompanied by a glossary providing further technical explanations.
