The Modane Rice Mill

The former “Rizerie des Alpes” in Modane, an Art Nouveau building listed as a historic monument, has housed the exhibition centre for the Lyon–Turin construction sites since 2005.

The building, shaped like a Greek temple and originally a rice mill at the beginning of the 20th century, underwent major modernisation works from mid-2021 to early 2024. The new Rizerie has been designed to welcome visitors with interpretive displays aimed at presenting the different themes related to the new railway line between France and Italy.
